Browsers cannot see the USB reports between the mouse and the system. This is the sample count actually received in a one-second window; a high-polling mouse on a low-refresh display gets capped by the display.

Move the cursor into the test area to start: movement, clicks and wheel input are all recorded. The page will not scroll while the cursor is inside.

Scrolling is locked and some defaults are intercepted inside the test area

While the cursor is inside the test area the wheel no longer scrolls the page (used for wheel testing), and the context menu and middle-click autoscroll are blocked. Side-button navigation may still fire — that is browser-level behaviour.
